Built and extended SIS DEM (the Species Information Service Data Entry Module) for IUCN, the International Union for Conservation of Nature - the application scientists around the world use to enter and validate the data behind species assessments for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
I built a reliable data-entry layer over a shared scientific dataset, used by a distributed and largely non-technical research community. Correctness and clarity mattered more there than anything clever, and I kept it that way.

Fee-calculation performance on a high-volume public-sector platform
Fee calculation ran for tens of seconds on the heaviest records and blocked the UI. Measured 3.4x to 15.4x faster.
Migrating legacy systems into a platform that models the work differently
Close to two million records moved out of ten separate legacy systems, each from a different vendor with its own idea of what the data means. Getting the rows across is the easy part.
