About
Independent software architect and IT consultant.
I work as an independent software architect and consultant. I have built and modernized enterprise systems across insurance, automotive, construction, agriculture and environmental science. The Red List data-entry system was direct work for IUCN. The Pacific turtle-research database was contracted by the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council, with SPREP and the Marine Research Foundation as the technical monitors. As part of Venuiti Solutions' core team I helped build the plugin platform their products shipped on.
I build products as well as projects: Manag.Web, my own business-management platform, runs in production at several companies. I have also written for print - a 2004 piece for Smart Access that Microsoft later republished on MSDN. I work both on-site and remotely, for clients in several countries.
I work directly for end clients and as an extension of other software teams - I have delivered as a subcontractor and white-label developer for software companies, not only on my own engagements.
Most of my work comes back to the same thing: enterprise software that has to be correct and has to stay up, and modernizing it without disrupting the business that runs on it.
