What I take on, how an engagement works, and the commercial facts you need before writing.
I am engaged on ongoing work: Manag.Web, my own product, and a long-running client platform. I take new work selectively, and when I take it, I fit capacity to what the project needs rather than to a fixed number of days a week.
What I take on
- Extending or modernizing a .NET system already in production, without a rewrite. That includes moving a desktop or server-rendered application to an installable web app.
- Database performance and data integrity: where something is measurably slow and nobody is sure why, or where a migration cannot afford to lose a row. Deepest on SQL Server; the work is the same shape on any relational engine.
- Systems carrying real business load, where the diagnosis is the hard part rather than the code.
It makes no difference whether the work comes directly from you or through an agency as team extension. The problem decides, not the route.
